System.IO.File.Open Method

Opens a System.IO.FileStream on the specified file with read/write access. [Edit]

Parameters

path
A string containing the name of the file to open. [Edit]
mode
A System.IO.FileMode value that specifies whether a file is created if one does not exist, and determines whether the contents of existing files are retained or overwritten. [Edit]

Remarks

This method is equivalent to System.IO.FileStream (path, mode, FileAccess.ReadWrite, FileShare.None ).

The path argument is permitted to specify relative or absolute path information. Relative path information is interpreted as relative to the current working directory.

Note: To obtain the current working directory, see Directory.GetCurrentDirectory.
