Permissions

Type	Reason
System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission [Edit]	Requires permission to read and might also require permission to write the file. See System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermissionAccess.Read and System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermissionAccess.Write.

Exceptions

ArgumentException	path is a zero-length string, contains only white space, or contains one or more implementation-specific invalid characters. -or- access specified Read and mode specified Create, CreateNew, Truncate or Append. [Edit]

Remarks

This method is equivalent to System.IO.FileStream (path, mode, access, share).

The path argument is permitted to specify relative or absolute path information. Relative path information is interpreted as relative to the current working directory.

Note: To obtain the current working directory, see Directory.GetCurrentDirectory.
